At Bare Fashion, we’ve always believed that fashion should be beautiful, ethical, and kind to the planet. That’s why we’re beyond excited to share that we’ve been shortlisted for TheIndustry.Fashion People, Planet & Purpose Awards 2025! Being recognised among brands that are making real change in fashion is an incredible honour. But this nomination isn’t just about us—it’s about something bigger.

It’s about the rise of vegan fashion and why it’s shaping the future of the industry.

What Is Vegan Fashion?

Vegan fashion means no animal-derived materials—no leather, wool, silk, or fur. Instead, it embraces innovative, cruelty-free alternatives like:

  • Plant-based leather made from mushrooms, apples, and even pineapples
  • Recycled and upcycled materials that reduce waste
  • Sustainable fabrics like organic cotton, Tencel, and hemp

For years, ethical fashion was seen as a niche market, but times have changed. More consumers than ever are demanding fashion that aligns with their values without compromising on style.

Why Is Vegan Fashion on the Rise?

People Are Choosing Compassion

More shoppers are ditching animal-derived materials in favour of cruelty-free fashion. With the rise of documentaries and social media awareness, conscious consumers are driving change, and brands are listening.

Sustainability Is Non-Negotiable

The fashion industry is one of the largest polluters, but vegan and circular fashion offer a way forward. By choosing ethical alternatives, we can reduce carbon footprints, protect ecosystems, and create a cleaner industry. The high street is also changing people attitudes about sustainable fashion  M&S for the past 20 year has been implementing sustainable project and has a focus on becoming a net zero business across all their operations and entire value chain by 2039/40. The high street has the ability to normalize sustainability.

Innovation Is Changing the Game

Luxury and high-street brands alike are investing in next-generation materials that mimic traditional fabrics without harming animals or the planet. From fabricated leather to lab growing Silk, the possibilities are endless.

Vegan Fashion: The Future of Style?

The industry is shifting. From high-end designers to mainstream brands, more companies are embracing cruelty-free, sustainable fashion. This isn’t just a trend—it’s the future.

At Bare Fashion, we’re proud to be part of this movement. Our People, Planet & Purpose Award nomination is proof that vegan fashion is making waves, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
