Viktor & Rolf partner with vegan brand to launch recyclable line
More and more designers are coming around to the ways of vegan fashion, slow fashion, and fashion that tries to limit its impact on the environment wherever and however it can. As Veganuary draws to a close, fashion house Viktor & Rolf are throwing their hats (or their bags and shoes) into the ring...
Joining forces with Brazilian brand Melissa, they've created a limited-edition line of shoes and bags that are not only vegan but are also 100% recyclable.
The chic and understated accessories made their official debut on the runway at the Viktor & Rolf haute couture SS20 show in Paris, making Melissa the first Brazilian brand to take part in the couture shows.
Both the bag and shoe feature a woven, flowered lace pattern, making them the perfect springtime accessories. The bag is available in baby blue and gold-beige; the shoes are available in baby blue, black, white and gold-beige. Both are made with Melissa's signature Melfex material, which is 100% vegan and 'easily disassembled and recycled.'
This isn't the first time vegan Melissa has worked with big-name designers. In the past, the brand has collaborated with the likes of Vivienne Westwood and Jason Wu.
The limited-edition Viktor & Rolf and Melissa collaboration officially launches on January 22 on Melissa's website and select retailers. Prices range from $119 to $179.
